Blue Mountains Medals

 

 

 

The Blue Mountains Hang Gliding Club has initiated a medal awards programme to recognise pilots’ flights from any of our Blue Mountains sites.  Medals will be awarded to pilots according to the following criteria:

 

                        Gold Medal                100km flight

                        Silver Medal               50 km flight

                        Bronze Medal            25 km flight

 

 

The following rules apply to the awarding of medals:

 

• The programme begins January 1, 2006.

 

• Flights valid from Blue Mountains sites only

(i.e. Blackheath, Table Rock, Mt Ovens, Sofala, Wolgan, Mt York).

 

• Flights are measured in straight line distance from launch to landing point.

 

• Either one witness or GPS flight verification is required.

 

• Notify one of the Club Committee of your flight to receive your medal.

 

• Medals will be engraved with the site, distance, pilot name and date.

 

• Medals will be awarded at the Club AGM/Yuletide Dinner or Club Comp Awards Night/Christmas Party
